Welcome to The Gather Kitchen & Hub, a delightful cafe nestled in the charming heart of Grasmere village. This café is not just a spot to grab a bite; it's a sanctuary for locals and visitors alike, offering a warm, inviting atmosphere that envelops you like a comforting embrace. From the moment you step inside, you can feel an unspoken camaraderie amongst patrons—many of whom return time and again, drawn by the promise of exceptional food and friendly dialogue.

At The Gather, the culinary offerings are as vibrant as the spirit of the café itself. The menu features a selection of gourmet sandwiches, including the much-praised panuozzo, which has garnered admiration from diners like Michael Chan, who describes it as a "Grasmere gem" bursting with flavor. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, showcasing fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that reflect the region's agricultural richness.

Coffee lovers will find their bliss here with expertly brewed coffee that energizes the spirit after an adventurous day in the fells. Nina Pilkington recounts her post-bike ride visit, finding both great coffee and delectable cakes that felt like a true reward for her exertions. For those in search of a sweet treat, their selection of cakes is nothing short of heavenly. Katie's experience with the cream tea has left a lasting impression, one that promises a return visit to savor more delicious fare.

Both indoor and outdoor seating options create an ideal setting for different moods—whether you wish to bask in the sun or find refuge inside the cozy interior. As you sip on your chai latte, another favorite from the menu, you’ll relish in the delightful ambiance created by the friendly staff and clientele alike. Sheridan Ling mentioned their impressive dining experience, which included delightful sourdough pizza base sandwiches and prosciutto pastries that left taste buds tingling.

In addition to scrumptious food and drink, The Gather Kitchen & Hub stands out as a community hub—a place where mountain leaders meet their clients, creating a sense of belonging that invites you to stay longer and connect with nature enthusiasts of all kinds. The outdoor area, especially, is a perfect spot to unwind after a hike, just as Gilly McArthur experienced when savoring the beautifully presented dishes.

While some customers like Mike Stephenson have shared mixed feelings about recent furniture changes, the overall experience continues to shine brighter than any concern. What remains unwavering is the cafe's commitment to quality and exceptional service; as Yvonne Cosler candidly shared, “the cakes we had are out of this world,” a true testament to The Gather's dedication to culinary excellence.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Gather Kitchen & Hub promises to be a worthy stop. With its delectable menu, welcoming vibe, and a strong sense of community, it’s no surprise that this cafe has endeared itself to visitors time and again. A Grasmere Gem with a Warm Heart and Delicious Panuozzo! Nestled perfectly within the bustling Grasmere Gather, the Thirteen Valleys Kitchen is a real find. Its central location in Grasmere village makes it incredibly convenient, and the pricing, while definitely not "cheap," feels reasonable for the quality and experience offered. Stepping inside is like receiving a warm hug. The atmosphere is genuinely inviting, buzzing with a happy energy that's clearly reflected in the staff. They seem genuinely pleased to be there, and that positivity is infectious. The food is where Thirteen Valleys Kitchen truly shines. The menu is extensive, offering something for everyone, whether you're after a quick "grab and go" option, a light bite to fuel your exploration of the Lake District, or a more substantial meal. I was particularly intrigued by their Saturday and Sunday special meals, suggesting a commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients and perhaps more elaborate creations. However, the real stars of the show are the Panuozzo/pizza sandwiches. These are not your average sandwich; they're something truly special and worth making the trip for alone. The combination of crusty, pizza-like bread and delicious fillings is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Overall a delightful dining experience in the heart of Grasmere. Its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, diverse menu, and especially those incredible Panuozzo sandwiches make it a must-visit. While not the cheapest option in town, the quality justifies the price, making it a worthwhile treat for any discerning food lover exploring the Lake District.

Perfect pit stop after a long day on the bike! We came across this little gem after a long bike ride and it was exactly what we needed. Great coffee and amazing cakes. Super nice inside, really friendly staff, and dog-friendly too. Loved the chilled vibe—felt like a proper reward after a day in the hills. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the amazing menu!

Popped in here today after discovering the Gingerbread shop nearby is closed on Good Friday. It all worked out for the best - The Gather has such a lovely shop, and the staff in the cafe are very engaging and personable. Not to mention we thought the cream tea we had was one of the best ever. Really delicious. Looking forward to returning in the future. Thanks!

Absolutely loved our lunch at Thirteen Valleys Kitchen cafe! They had plenty of both outdoor and indoor seating options, and we enjoyed eating outside in the sunshine. A good range of food options, and we all enjoyed the food we ordered - two sourdough pizza base sandwiches, and one prosciutto pastry! The service was great, and they make an incredible chai latte!

Nice cafe with good quality food but there’s something odd about the new tables & chairs they’ve installed. We had to move tables after our first table was the wrong height to eat our food. It just felt odd. My wife and I preferred the old cafe & garden centre but I guess this is how things are going in the Lakes with villages predominantly gift shops and cafes now. At least the gifts here seem to be high quality & locally sourced.

I came along the Gather a few days ago - it’s an amazing hub for mountain leaders and coaches to meet clients and the food is incredible, very tasty, beautifully presented and perfect for a pre hill hike or post summit brew. Good luck for the future and Rob - those chick pea squares are incredible!

We walked straight into the dog area which was super lucky for us. The staff are dead friendly and happy ... the cakes we had are out of the world. Spotless toilets...amazing coffee... yes they don't take cash and yes I personally don't like this but this place has blown me away so much I am still in here writing this review
